Status      Deceased - 12/16/2013 Las Vegas, NV
Bio     Juliah A. Atkinson, 66, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013, at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Visitation will be held at 9am, Friday, January 3, 2014, at Floral Hills, followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 10am. Juliah was born in Pagosa Springs, CO, but spent most of her life in Independence, MO. She was a graduate of Van Horn High School. She worked for Lerner Co., 1st National Bank of KC, and American Century Investors before retiring and moving to Bayfield, CO. But retirement didn't last long. She started a new career with Edward Jones Investments, and then the 6th Judicial District Court of Colorado in Durango. After 10 years of living on the side of a mountain she decided to be with her true love, her granddaughter. This time she truly retired and enjoyed being a Grandma. Juliah was a Sunday School teacher most of her adult life. She enjoyed sharing her love for the Lord whether through teaching, music, or missions. You never saw her without her Bible or a smile. She loved life because she was secure in it. She grew up in the church, and her final church home was Paradise Church of Las Vegas. Juliah was preceded in death by her dad, Howard Wieners; and son, Timothy Burnett. She is survived by her mother, Ruth Wieners, of Kansas City; husband, John Atkinson, of Las Vegas; son, Troy Tobler, of Las Vegas; daughter, Rhonda Tobler, of Kansas City; brothers and their wives: Dennis and Willene Wieners, of Oak Grove, and David and Peggy Wieners, of Blue Springs; granddaughter, Sienna Tobler, of Las Vegas, and countless nieces, nephews, other family members and friends that were her favorite. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to: Paradise Church of Las Vegas, Attn: Juliah Atkinson Memorial Fund, 2525 Emerson Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89121 or www.liverfoundation.org. Please wear bright colors or blue the day of the service. Fond memories and condolences for the family may be left at www.floralhillsfuneralhome.com. Arrangements: D.W.
