Bio     Orin Lee Walker passed away January 8, 2014, in San Jose, Calif., where he lived for 28 years. Funeral to be held 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Floral Hills Funeral Home with visitation at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Orin was born Aug. 15, 1946, in Independence, Mo., to William Scott and Margaret Mae (Miller) Walker. He graduated from Van Horn High School and attended the University of Kansas. After serving in the US Navy as an AE5 (Aviation Electrician) during the Vietnam conflict, Orin worked in the field of heating and cooling and continued his education in related technical fields and management. He worked on commercial equipment as a stationary engineer for 23 years and retired Feb. 1, 2009. Orin shared a love for traveling with his wife Cecilia and enjoyed motorcycling with the San Jose Dons Motorcycle Club. He was president of the club for four years and president of the American Motorcycle Association. Orin generously shared time and his love of outdoor activities with his kids, grandkids, siblings, and their families. He also volunteered his time with several charities and community projects. Orin was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Rolly, Robin, Preston, David, and Glen. He will be missed by wife, Cecilia; five children, Lee Schismenos (Jonalyn) of Yuma, Ariz., Mindy Walker; Michael Walker (Missy) of Carroll, Neb., Scott Walker (Nikki) Homer, Neb., Jennifer Beer (Eric) of Prairie Village, Kan.; and 10 grandchildren, Caleb, Chelsea, Michael, Amy, Makayla, Keaton, Chris, Tamisha, Trinity, and Ryan. His siblings will also miss his sense of humor, Russ Walker (Elaine), Donna Novak (Gilbert), Sharon King (Larry), Judi Walker, Joyce Burress, and Lois Walker, as will several nieces and nephews.
