He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was self-employed. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Jean. He is survived by his parents, Duard and Chris Scott of Independence, MO; his four children, daughter Sharonn and her husband Gary Coble of Gardner, KS, daughter Denise Scott of Gardner, KS, son Tom Scott II of Overland Park, KS and daughter Kristie Scott of Reno, NV; maternal grandmother, Mary Lunde of Stockton, MO; seven grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
