Bio     John "Tom" Ridings John "Tom" Ridings, 55, Blue Springs, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs. Mr. Ridings was born Jan. 7, 1947, in Macon, Mo., to John S. and Mary Sutton Ridings and graduated from Van Horn High School in 1965. He attended the First Baptist Church of Blue Springs and was a real estate broker for Reece-Nichols. He was a former officer of the Blue Springs Police Department. He was also a member of the Blue Springs Country Club since 1974 and a member of the TKE fraternity. He was a past owner of the T. Riders Bar and Grill. He was preceded in death by his father. His survivors include his mother, Mary Wheeler, and stepfather, Bill, Macon, Mo.; son, Chad Ridings and Janell, Lee's Summit, daughters, Amanda Ridings, Kansas City, and Ashley Ridings, Blue Springs, brother, Bob and Sylvia Ridings, Independence, and sister, Mary Jo Ridings, Macon; stepbrother, Randy Wheeler, Oak Grove, and stepsister, Rhonda and David Jones, Springfield, Mo. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Blue Springs. Burial will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of the Webb-Freer Funeral Home, Blue Springs.

Jerry is a VH Alumni (1960) and will be gifting a Falcon sculpture he created to VH at this time. All school alumni are welcome to attend.
