Joe Edward Meyers, 76, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. He was born July 23, 1947 to Richard and Berthena (Renfro) Meyers in Lockwood, MO.
Joe was a 1965 graduate of Van Horn High School in Independence, MO. He continued his education at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS earning a degree in business. On September 4, 1971 Joe married the love of his life Janet Liddle in Independence, MO. Joe spent the majority of his working career in banking. He retired from First Federal Bank in Kansas City, where he worked for over 30 years. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Missouri Tigers, K-State football and the Kansas City Chiefs. Joe cherished spending time with his family and friends, above all he loved attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janet Meyers of Blue Springs, MO; sons, Eric Meyers and wife Misty of Blue Springs, MO, Chad Meyers and wife Tiffany of Lee’s Summit, MO, Brad Meyers and wife Nikki of Grain Valley, MO; grandchildren, Jacob Meyers, Chase Meyers, Ty Meyers, Chandler Meyers, Ally Meyers, Lauren Meyers; brother, Rick Meyers and his wife, Lori of Stillwell, KS, and numerous additional family members and friends.
