Bio | Michael James McKinney, 68, of Grain Valley, Mo., passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015. A visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at the funeral home. Burial at 2:30 p.m. in Union Cemetery, Rocky Mount, Mo. Michael was born Oct. 4, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo., son of William and Doris McKinney. He worked at Armco as a union electrician for 30 years, then worked at GST for another four years, retiring in 2001, then worked at Liquid Soap for another four years, finally retiring in 2005. He loved bird hunting and woodworking. He was an army Vietnam veteran, mason, VFW post 9638 out of Galmey, Mo. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Michael is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Joann McKinney of the home; daughters, Jessica Cox (Johnny) of Grain Valley, and Amanda Orahood (Jeremy) of Grain Valley; his grandchildren, Courtney Cox, Brittany Cox, Emma Orahood, Chloe Orahood, Aubrey Orahood and expecting another grandchild; and brother, Timmy McKinney of Independence, Mo.
