Bio | Marilyn Fries Hollimon, 70, of Albuquerque, NM, formerly of Sugar Creek, MO passed away on March 16, 2018. Marilyn was born June 5, 1947; in Independence, MO to Emil and Mary (Rodman) Fries. After graduating from Van Horn High she went on to study at Mount Saint Scholastica and the University of Tulsa receiving her Masters in Education. She briefly taught school at St. Thomas More in Decator, GA before working as a speech writer at the Georgia State Capital. She was recognized by Georgia Gov. George Bushee for her service to the Governor's staff and the State. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Mary Fries, husband, Hobert Hollimon, and sister, Elaine Fink. She is survived by sons, Christopher (Tawny) Statzer, Portland, TX and Gabriel Hollimon, Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Karen Ulrich, Manchester, MO and Marion (Brad) Baker, Lee's Summit, MO; grandchildren, Kassidee Gooch, Emily and Corey Statzer; nieces Alisa (Craig) Seidelman, Tasha Ulrich; nephews Jim (Natalie) Ulrich and Robert Ulrich. Private inurnment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
