Bio | Elizabeth Susan "Betty Sue" Topi Pugh, 68, of Lee's Summit, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at North Kansas City Hospital. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm, April 26, 2015, at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial
will be 10am, Monday, April 27, 2015 at Holy Spirit Parish, 1800 MO 150, Lee's Summit, MO 64082. Burial will take place in Mound Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sugar Creek Fair Board, 10619 Anderson Court, Sugar Creek, MO 64054. Elizabeth was born June 29, 1946 to Betty and Joe Topi of Sugar Creek. She was a 1964 graduate of Van Horn High School and married Donald Jo Pugh on
June 19, 1965. Elizabeth graduated magna cum laude, with a degree in criminal justice, from Rockhurst University. She worked as a Parole Officer for the State of Missouri Department of Corrections - Probation and Parole Division in Kansas City from 1979 to 1990, and was a Program Consultant for Drug and Alcohol Abuse Services in Topeka, Kansas from 1990 to 1995.
Elizabeth was very proud of her Slovak heritage. She lived for 20 years in St. Peters, MO., where she was very active in All Saints Parish, Women's Prayer Group, and Prison Ministries. She returned to the Kansas City area, moving to Lee's Summit in 2013, to be closer to family. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, and aunt who will be missed by many. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and
Joe Topi and a son, Jared Pugh. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Joe, of the home; daughter Susan (Mike) Spaw, Lee's Summit; son Danny Joe (Melissa), Monroe City, MO.; daughter-in-law Khrys Pugh, Bucyrus, KS; six
grandchildren: Treavor Pugh (Mary), St. Louis; Travis, Tyler and Tanner Pugh, Monroe City; Rain and Elias Pugh of Bucyrus; two great grandchildren, Tommy and Jayson Pugh; five brothers: Steve Topi, Sugar Creek; Mike (Kathy)
