Bio | William David Hunter III January 7, 1947 — March 12, 2023 Kansas City William David Hunter III was born January 7, 1947 in Kings Hospital, Washington DC to W.D. Hunter Jr. and Helen Hunter. His parents divorced when he was five and he was raised by his mom until he joined the U.S. Navy in August, 1964. Bill married Cynthia Allen in December 1977 and two daughters were born from this union, Emily Kay Hunter (Bryant) and Natalie Sue Hunter (Prater). Bill worked for GFC Loan Co. from 1968 to 1976 as a loan office manager, he worked for JCPenney Co. from 1976 until 2000 in retail credit. In 2000 his division became Alliance Data Systems and in 2001 he was laid off and subsequently retired. Since retiring, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his four grandchildren. He also enjoyed sharing his love of music with others. Bill is preceded in death by his mother Helen Grieve (1918-2010). He is survived by his wife Cynthia Hunter, his daughter Emily Bryant (Kyle), his daughter Natalie Prater (Michael), and his four beloved grandchildren Cole Bryant, Lillian Bryant, Henry Bryant, and William Prater. A memorial service for Bill will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at South Crysler Restoration Branch (16101 E. Salisbury Rd., Independence, MO 64050). The visitation will be at 10:00 AM, and the service will begin at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will be held at Brooking Cemetery (10004 E 53rd St, Raytown, MO 64133) at 3PM. |
