David Lee Hill Sr., 53, Odessa, formerly of Independence, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Hill was born Jan. 4, 1946, in Independence, and lived in Independence from 1946 until moving to Bates City in 1968. He moved to Odessa in 1982. He worked for Owens-Brockway in Kansas City for more than 33 years, and was a member of the International Association of Machinest and Aero Space Workers Union Local 71, Lodge 990. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Odessa, a former member of the Concord Baptist Church in Bates City, and a 1964 graduate of Van Horn High School. He was preceded in death by one son, David Lee Hill Jr. on April 6, 1985.
His survivors include his wife, Chriss Hill of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise Ann and Alan Best, Odessa; his parents, Betty and Robert Hill Sr., Independence; three brothers, Robert L. Hill Jr., Blue Springs, Dr. Mike Hill, Lee`s Summit, and Jeff Hill, Independence; and two grandchildren, Andrea and Jarrod Best.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church, Odessa. Burial will be in Odessa Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, Odessa. The family suggests contributions to the church. |
