Bio | Maynard Frank Gore, Independence, MO passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014.
Maynard was born June 28, 1945 in Kansas City, MO the son of Luke and Nellie G. (Buford) Gore. He was a 1963 graduate of Van Horn High School and received his B.S. in Engineering from Finley Engineering School. Maynard retired as a mechanical engineer from Lake City Ammunition after 40 years. He was also a member of Grace Heartland Community Church. Maynard was well known throughout the drag racing community from building cars and engines and racing. Maynard always said there was more to life than racing, he enjoyed camping, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy Gore of 48 years; sons, Kevin Gore and Travis Gore; sisters, Ruth Cooper and Judy Williams and his grand dog, Boost. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee’s Summit, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Village House Hospice at John Knox Village.
