Warsaw, Missouri - Sharyn Rose (Faulkner) Vanderpool, 75, of Warsaw, Missouri, gained her wings on December 2nd, 2020 due to complications from the massive stroke she suffered in August 2020.
Sharyn was born in Independence, Missouri, to Seeta Joyce (Williams) and Archie Ball Faulkner. She has two older sisters: Avis Geraldean (Faulkner) Watkins (Deceased) and Gloria Joyce (Faulkner) Carpenter. She also has a younger brother, George Garilee Faulkner.
Sharyn graduated from Van Horn High School in 1963. She received her Cosmetology License from the Independence College of Cosmetology soon after graduating high school.
Sharyn's first marriage was to Lawrence Earl Robinson in 1964. Together they had a son, Shannon Dewayne Robinson, and a daughter, Shawn Earlene Robinson. Theirs was not a happy marriage and they were divorced soon after.
Sharyn married her current husband of 51 years, Gary Dean Vanderpool, on October 27th, 1969. Together they raised Sharyn's children, along with Gary's daughter, DeAnn Marie (Vanderpool) Smallwood. They raised their happy family in Independence, Fairmount, Sugar Creek and Belton, Missouri.
Over the years, Sharyn worked as a beautician in her home and various salons, along with a memorable stint at the J.C.Penney Outlet Store. She also cared for many children, disabled, and elderly.
Sharyn enjoyed fishing, sewing, embroidery, quilting, rug hooking, reading, singing and teasing everyone she loved. She was known to some as "Rosie" or "The Rabbit Queen".
Sharyn is preceded in death by: her mother, Seeta Joyce (Williams) Coffee; her father, Archie Ball Faulker; her step-father, Alex Coffee; sister, Avis Geraldean (Faulkner) Watkins; aunt, Bonnie Gail (Williams) Zans; and grandson, Remington Luke Robinson.
Sharyn is survived by: her husband, Gary Vanderpool; her son, Shannon Robinson; her daughter, Shawn Robinson; step-daughter, DeAnn (Vanderpool) Smallwood; sister, Gloria (Faulkner) Carpenter; brother in law, Charles Carpenter; brother, George Faulkner; sister in law, Candi Faulkner; two uncles, David and Milo Williams; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. Rte 291 Liberty, MO, 64068, on Thursday, December 10th, 3pm, followed by a dinner at the Faulkner Family Farm. We will also be streaming services via Zoom for those unable to attend.
Our family is asking for memorials to be made to Quilts for Christ, a quilting charity that was near and dear to Sharyn's heart. They meet at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Warsaw, MO, to put together quilts for First Responders, Veterans, Etc. Arr: Park Lawn 816-523-1234
