Bio     Priscilla Becker Wowak, 78 passed away Friday, November 3. 2023 at John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit, MO. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the chapel. Komen Breast Cancer Fund at https://www.komen.org/ Priscilla was born March 18, 1945 in Washington, DC to John and Sarah (Bondurant) Becker. She was a third-grade teacher for 28 years, most of that in the Independence School District, until she retired in 2000. She enjoyed baking cookies, painting, sewing and quilting, reading, watching sports, light houses and traveling. She was a member of Connection Point Church in Raytown, MO. She is survived by: 2 sons, David Wowak and wife Colleen of Fairway, KS and Brian Wowak and wife Traci of Independence, MO; a sister, Patricia Rose and husband Jim of Independence, MO; 5 grandchildren, Dalton, Logan, Noah, Sarah and Rory; a niece, Jill Campbell and her family, and a nephew, Rusty Rose and his family. Jerry is a VH Alumni (1960) and will be gifting a Falcon sculpture he created to VH at this time. All school alumni are welcome to attend.
