| Bio | Margaret Ann “Maggy” Austin, 75, of Warrensburg, Missouri passed away January 3, 2020. A visitation will be held 9:30 – 11:00 AM, Monday, January 13, 2020 at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church, Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Memorial services will follow at the church at 11:00 AM.
Maggy was born October, 8, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a multi-talented artist, baker, gardener and cook who enjoyed volunteering for many organizations while always remembering those in need. Most remembered for her love to husband Terry, family and friends. Maggy was so positive in any situation and her goal was to spread joy. Maggy, Terry and their beloved dog Annie enjoyed their time together on their farm and making their homestead beautiful. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren whom she loved and adored. Her strong faith in God shined daily through her actions, strength, encouragement to others and selfless giving.
She was a talented artist, whether it was with her paints and pens, a handful of flowers or a box full of treasures to display, helping the a multitude of organizations thru volunteering or giving vegetables from their garden, a dessert for tonight or a cake for a wedding, setting a table for two or a buffet for everyone, she could design it perfectly. Her home was always inviting with the warmth of her family pictures and messages of her faith. She was always quick to fill a void in anyone’s event with her time, giving of donations, or making that extra batch of cookies.
Maggy will be most remembered for the love of Terry, for 55 years, the grandchildren she adored, her family that was her life and the friends that completed the circle. Her strong faith shined daily through her many acts of kindness, words of encouragement, and the remembrance of those less fortunate.
She was preceded in death by; her parents, Marjorie and Ernest Nystrom; grandson, Dylan Austin and her nephew, Shawn Catlett.
Survivors include; her husband, Terry Austin; sons, Scott Austin and Christopher Austin (Marty); sister, Cheryl Catlett (Paul); grandchildren, Nicole Riener (Montahna), Saige Loecker (Andrew), Brody Austin, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Cancer Connection -Woods Chapel. |
