Bio | William E. Marshall, 65, Independence, Mo., passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in KC, after an 18-month battle with cancer. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Julie E. Marshall Memorial Scholarship Fund, Truman Heartland Foundation, 300 N. Osage, Independence, MO 64050. Bill was born March 27, 1943, in Detroit, Mich. He was the son of the late Bill and Ida Marshall. Bill owned and operated Accurate Tool Co. Inc. for 25 years. He was a 1962 graduate of Van Horn High School. Bill loved life, loved to laugh, and be around people who had big jolly laughs. He enjoyed entertaining people with his endless supply of jokes. He also enjoyed traveling with his family, and fishing at area lakes and the Lake of the Ozarks with his daughter Julie. Bill was preceded in death by his daughter Julie and his parents. He leaves his wife of 42 years, Mary Jane; sister Donna Brumley and husband Bud; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was a loving father and husband who will be missed by all who loved and knew him. Arrangements by: Speaks Suburban Chapel.
