Bio | Dan Lester, born August 17, 1944, joined his Dad and brother, Keith, in the late hours of August 15, 2009. Dan leaves his family and a large group of friends to cherish the wonderful life he lived. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Lester, sons, David Lester (his wife Rei), Craig Lester (his wife Melissa), six grandchildren, and his sister, Linda Conklin (her husband Chip), and his special friend, Melody Robinett. Danny joined Westminster Presbyterian Church in 1955, was an Eagle Scout, and served in the National Guard. He played on his first baseball team at age 8 and never stopped until his over-40 league. The Jasso Builders team in 1955- 59 had nine players who remain among his dearest friends. Retiring in 2001 after a career in management and sales with Kenworth and Peterbilt, he loved playing golf. A round with guys he loved, a cold Bud when settling the bets, then collecting his winnings. Is there a better day than that? We'll miss him and the way each one of us was special to him. We'll miss the way he greeted us with a handshake or a hug. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, at Mt. Washington Forever Chapel Mausoleum, Independence, Mo. Visitation 2 to 4 p.m., services at 4 p.m. Contributions, instead of flowers, can be made to KC Hospice House or the Salvation Army.
