James E. Keyton, 73 of Blue Springs, Missouri died on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at John Knox Village Hospice House in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Born Friday, June 30, 1944 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, he was the son of the late Junior Keyton and the late Elsie Shafer Keyton. He married Caroline LeBlanc Keyton on October 20, 1966. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2011. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1986 retiring as a Staff Sergeant. He was a dispatcher for the Blue Springs Police Department retiring in 2008. Surviving are one son, Troy J. Keyton of Overland Park, KS; one daughter, Raquel (Matt) Overstreet of Blue Springs, MO; one sister, Joann Keyton of Raleigh , NC; four grandchildren, Isabel Overstreet, Trysten Overstreet, Joshua Estle and Sarah Overstreet. He is preceded in death by his wife Caroline and one brother Robert Keyton. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday November 17, 2017 at the Missouri Veterans Chapel with Inurnment following. The family suggest memorials be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
