Bio     Wilbur D. Hoffman Wilbur D. Hoffman, 59, Independence, died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at his home. Mr. Hoffman was born June 7, 1944, in Kansas City, to Wilbur A. and Viola B. (Jenkins) Hoffman. He was part owner of Mid American Carpet and Tile Inc. in Sugar Creek for more than 21 years. He enjoyed fishing and bowling and was a member of the Mercedes Benz Club of America and Mount Washington United Methodist Church. He was precede in death by his parents. His survivors include a sister, Pat Sterbenz, Overland Park; his adopted family, Janice Butkovich and children, Jocelynn, Jamie and Garrett of Sugar Creek, Jana, Scott, Jared and Erin Slocum of Buckner, Richard, Cristi, Kaylin, Kylie and Ty Campbell of Cameron, Mo., and Lynn Campbell, Kansas City. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Washington Forever Mausoleum Chapel, Independence. A "Celebration of Life" will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the mausoleum. The family suggests memorial contributions to Mount Washington United Methodist Church, 584 S. Arlington Ave., Independence, Mo. 64053 or "Wings of Mercy," c/o Ararat Shrine, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, Mo. 64129. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.forevernetwork.com.
