Bio	( April 06, 1944 - December 19, 2021 ) JAMES ELI BALDWIN James Eli Baldwin, age 77, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 19, 2021. Celebration of life is pending at this time. Jim was born in Independence, Missouri on April 6, 1944 to Walter E. Baldwin and Belva A. (Hughes). After graduating high school Jim continued his education and achieved a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from University of Missouri-Kansas City. Shortly after, he was drafted for the Vietnam War and honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. In February of 1967, Jim was joined in marriage with his wife, Sharon (Long). This union was blessed with two children, Shari and David. Following military service, Jim sold insurance independently and also for Farmers Insurance. Prior to retirement, he worked for the Internal Revenue Service. Jim was a member of Optimist Club International and a Lay Minister for the RLDS/Community of Christ church. He touched the lives of many youths, young adults, And others throughout his years ministry. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Belva Baldwin. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Sharon Baldwin; daughter, Shari Rogers (Mark); son, David Baldwin (Joni); brother Ronald Baldwin; sisters, Myra Elliott (Fred) and Kathy McKelvey (James); nine grandchildren, Sarah Prindle (Cole), Cory Purcell, Grace Anderson, Christian Purcell, Connor Purcell, Cassidy Purcell, Olivia Baldwin, Audrey Baldwin, and William Baldwin; and three great grandchildren; Lily, Luke, and Noah.
