| Bio | George P. Whiteside Jr., 70, passed away Sept. 29, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, George P. Whiteside Sr. and Mary M. Whiteside; two sisters, Carol Whiteside-Womack and Mary Whiteside- Owen. He is survived by two sons, Darren S. Whiteside of Independence, Mo., and Adam B. Whiteside of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandsons, Alekzander B. Long, Christian B. Brown, and Donovan J. Whiteside; granddaughter, Hayley L. Whiteside; sister, Peggy Whiteside-Bicknell of Independence; and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones. As well as his trusted companion, his dog Auggie. George worked as a terminal manager for Signal Delivery Service. He started work at a young age in the family business, The Blue Ridge Cafe - Whiteside's Garage & Station at 24 Hwy. and Blue Ridge. George was known and loved by many and will be missed by many more. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
