| Bio | Mary Kathryn Hess, 71, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, at North Care Hospice, North Kansas City, MO.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 10th, at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial of ashes will be at 3:00 p.m. in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.
Mary was born November 8, 1943, in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of William D. and Rhetta L. (Hines) Tann. She married John P. Hess on November 10, 1961. She was a secretary for HUD. Mary enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2010; and two sons: Bill Hess in 2011 and Ronnie Hess in 1962.
Her survivors include one daughter, Cheri Nau (Larry) of Oak Grove; two brothers: Jim Tann (Lola) of Blue Springs, MO, and John Tann (Janice) of Independence; four grandchildren: William Hess Jr. (Shawna) of Independence, Kimberly Hess (Billy) of Kansas City, Katie Nau of Columbia, MO, and Dan Nau of Oak Grove; and five great-grandchildren: Josie, Autumn, Aubree, William III, and Lily.
