Bio     Donna Jean Noland Brown passed away in Lee’s Summit, MO on February 05th, 2024. Donna Jean (DJ) was born March 16th, 1942 to John Preston and Bula Noland in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Van Horn High in 1960, in Independence, MO and married Roy H. Brown on March 23, 1962 in Jackson County. Donna attended college at Penn Valley Community College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science on December 19, 1990. Shortly after graduation she began her career as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a nurse for many years and was caring and dedicated in her chosen profession. Her favorite thing in life was being a grandmother and being part of her children’s lives. She enjoyed singing with her sisters and her church choirs. She belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution, Independence Pioneers Chapter and she attended Coventry Estates Baptist Church. Donna was preceded in death by her husband Roy, her parents, her brothers Joe D. Noland, Robert H. Byrom, Charles J. Byrom and her sister, Glenda Smallwood. She was also preceded in death by her long- time friend of over 60 years, William D. Wills (Popo), where all the fun family parties took place at the lake. Survived by her son, Troy H. Brown (Chris), her daughter Traci H. Fehl (Emery), 3 grandchildren Alyson N. Klint (James White), McKenzie P. Jones and Brady D. Jones. She is also survived by her brother James Byrom and her sisters Marsha Bergman (Michael), Barbara Carson (Ron), and Lyla Gann. She leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Visitation and a Service will be held at Coventry Estates Baptist Church, 17133 E. 39th Street S. Independence, MO 64055 on Tuesday February 13th, 2024. Visitation from 4 - 6pm and Service from 6 – 6:30pm.
