Bio | Louis (Louie) Joseph Fries, of Raymore, MO was born March 13, 1942 & passed away December 27, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. December 31, 2008 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Raymore. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the church on December 30, 2008. Louie graduated from Van Horn High School in 1960, was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam. He then completed his education and graduated from The University of Missouri in 1975. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Josephine Fries. He is survived by his loving wife Marlene Fries of Raymore, MO and his stepchildren and their families, Tim and Nancy Mooney, Jackie and Justin of Raymore MO; Dana Hannah, Baillie, Cody and Dusty of Raymore Mo; Jeff and Lisa Mooney, Justina, Jacob and Wyatt of Cass County , MO; and Linda and Monty Maus, Jake, Jessie, Harley and Savannah of Pleasanton, KS; his mother in law Marguerite Tompkins of Kansas City; 3 Sisters-in-law and 2 Brothers-in- law; his special cousins, Elaine Fink and Marion Baker and their families; his children Stacy, Molly and Mark. Louie loved guns and was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and the Single Action Shooting Society. He was past president of The Vintage Mustang Club and a current member of the Lost Caravan Corvette Club of America, Ducks Unlimited, and VFW Post 3118. He was a staunch conservative and a proud member of the Republican National Committee. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Raymore, participant in the men's weekly bible study class at Creekmoor, and had served as a mentor to youth at Raymore Elementary School. Louie was an avid golfer who worked as a Marshall at Creekmoor Country Club in Raymore and belonged to the Seniors Golf League at Country Creek Golf Course. Louie also enjoyed traveling, flying remote controlled airplanes, and working on and racing cars. Louie was much loved by those around him and will be deeply missed. Our family would like to thank St. Luke's Hospitals for their kindness and compassionate care during the past two weeks.
