Bio     GARRY G. HOYER 1941 - 2014 Garry G. Hoyer, 73, of KCMO passed away on May 31, 2014. Visitation will be Thursday June 5 at Floral Hills from 6-8pm. Services will be June 6 at Floral Hills at 2pm with burial to follow. He was born in Jasper, Arkansas, but spent most of his life in Independence, MO. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1959, obtained a degree from Penn State, and served 3 years in the US Army. He loved sports, especially bowling. He had 3 perfect games. He belonged to the Mason, Shriners, Sprinkler Fitter #314, and American Legion Post 21. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy Hoyer and Maxine McBride. He is survived by his best friend and life partner, Delores Pozin; son, Garry Hoyer II; daughter, Yvonne Blackwell (Josh); grandchildren, Chase, Clay, Zack, Ashlynn, Rylie, Ryan, and Tyler; great grandson, Abel; brother, Larry E. Jerry is a VH Alumni (1960) and will be gifting a Falcon sculpture he created to VH at this time. All school alumni are welcome to attend.
