Bio | Delores Ann Place, 80, Hamilton, MO, passed away on September 2, 2022, in Hamilton. She and her husband moved to Hamilton in 1973 from Independence, MO.
Delores was born on September 23, 1941, in Kansas City, MO, to Merle F. and Virginia (Pittman) Warmington. She graduated from the Van Horn High School, in Independence, in 1959. Delores worked for Dunn & Broadstreet, the Hamilton Meat Locker, Rains Meats, and the Stride Rite Shoe Factory. She also was a co-owner of Daisies and Denims Boutique in Hamilton.
She was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church, the Focus Club, and a volunteer at the Caldwell County Food Pantry. Delores had been involved in 4-H as a leader, she walked and raised money each year for Alzheimer's research, and she enjoyed bowling, working in her yard, and traveling, but she most especially enjoyed shopping.
Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers-Bob and Larry Warmington, sister-in-law-Carol Warmington, and her mother-in-law-Mary Place.
On March 4, 1961, she married Nevin Place in Independence, MO. They were high school sweethearts and were married for over 61 years. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors: Children-Julie (David) Rains, Gallatin, MO; Joy (David) Ford, Osborn, MO; and Zachary (Kelly) Place, Sibley, MO; 8 grandchildren-Hattie Rains, Addison Ford (Nick), Riley Rains (Jordan), Hannah Ford, Abbie Ford, Colton Place, Graydee Rains, and Emma Place; 3 great-grandchildren-Lincoln Rains, Amelia Rains, and Palmer Rains; brothers-Ed (Shirley) Warmington and Dennis Warmington; aunt-Ruby Pittman; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements and Cremation have been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.
Services will be held and announced at a later date.
