Leonard was born July 22, 1941, in Independence, MO, the eldest of three children of Joseph and Anne (Vukas) Stampfel. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963. He was a retired instrument mechanic for Trans World Airlines. His wife, Diane King Stampfel, preceded him in death in 2012. He leaves his daughters, Michelle Maksimik, Jennifer King and Jeanette Ward; sisters, JoAnn Onka and Jan Shelton; and six grandchildren. Arrangements: Park Lawn Northland Chapel (816) 781-8228.
