| Bio | Joyce Sandra Hitch, 83, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Crown Care Rehab and Healthcare Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services were held Monday, July 15, 2024 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Interment at the Longview Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
Joyce was born August 6, 1940 in Clinton, MO, a daughter of Charles Russell and Mildred Louise (Sidwell) Crawford. She spent her early years in Independence, MO and was a 1958 graduate of Van Horn High School. After high school, she received her Bachelors degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO.
Joyce was united in marriage to Roger H. Hitch on April 23, 1966 in St. Joseph, MO, and they lived in Independence for a few years before moving to Lee's Summit, MO. Joyce was a realtor and had worked for First Star Real Estate Co. in Lee's Summit for 15 years until her retirement. Joyce had lived in Harrisonville since 2018.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Roger Hitch, on July 28, 2014. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lyle and Melissa Hitch, Harrisonville; and four grandsons: Nathan Hitch, Garrett Hitch, Camryn Hitch and Dylan Hitch. |
