Barbara Ann Stagg, 78, of Independence, Missouri, passed away February 15th, 2019 at Research Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Christ United Methodist Church 14506 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055.
Barbara was born May 30, 1940 to Jesse and Ruby Olinger in Kansas City, MO. Barbara married her loving husband Roy Stagg on March 14, 1958. Barbara was blessed with two children David and Tamara. Barbara worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in her early years and later was the shop owner of Keepsake Kupboard on the Independence Square. She spent most of her time at home taking care of her children and later her grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed traveling and camping with her family and friends. She also enjoyed going to breakfast, playing cards with friends, and was active in her church community. She loved her family and was a very proud wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Barbara is preceded in death by her father Jessie Olinger, her mother Ruby Marie Olinger, her brothers James Olinger and Charles Olinger, and her daughter in law Laura (Goodman) Stagg. Barbara is survived by her husband, Roy Stagg Jr., her children David Stagg, Tamara Wise (Bart), her grandchildren, Amanda (Stagg) Hanna (Jared), Rachel (Stagg) Jensen (Austin), Jordyn (Wise) Beebe (Jon), Jonathan Wise, and 4 great grandchildren Caleb, Elizabeth & Nathan Hanna and Jackson Jensen.
Services will be held Saturday March 2, 2019 at Christ United Methodist Church 14506 E. 39th Street Independence, MO 64055. A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service.
In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Laura's Little Bits of Comfort an organization very special to Barbara.
