Bio | Joe Penn Pritchett went to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 26th, 2023. He was born in Belton, Missouri on August 30, 1940 to Joe and Mary Pennel Pritchett. Being a PK (preacher’s kid), he had the privilege of living in many west Missouri towns. He graduated from Van Horn High School, Independence, Missouri in 1958. He was an Eagle Scout, earning this award in 1957. He attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri and Central Missouri State in Warrensburg, Missouri where he met his wife, Charlotte Fischer. They were married October 26, 1963 and would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this year. They were blessed with two daughter, Patricia Ann and Catherine Penn and five amazing grandchildren. His love for cars was a major force in his life. You could always find him in the garage or out in the driveway washing his cars whether they were dirty or not. He worked for a DX Gas Station during high school and college. In 1962 he joined the Air Force Reserves and served his country for six years. He worked for Bendix Corp for a year before going to work for Owens-Illinois Plastic Products in Kansas City Missouri, retiring after 31 years in 1995 after numerous moves. He was a member of Waterville United Methodist Church for 46 years and served as chair of Trustees for many years. He was a member of Glass City Corvette Club for over 30 years making many lifelong friends and enjoying many Corvette trips. Route 66 trip in 2000 was one of his favorite trips. He leaves behind his wife Charlotte, daughters, Patricia Ann (Jeff) Langenderfer, Catherine “Penny” (Steve) Small and five grandchildren: Kaley (Mauricio)Millan, Tyler Langenderfer, Nicholas Langenderfer, Connor Small and Hailey Small. And many nieces and nephews. Also, his dog, Tricksy. We want to thank our two Hospice caregivers, Kate and Hannah for all the caring love they gave him and fun visits.
Visitation will be Friday, September 1st, from 10:00 to 11:30 at Waterville United Methodist Church, 7115 Waterville-Monclova Road, Waterville with a celebration of life service immediately following.
