Bio | Gerald L. R. Harrison, 78, Hamilton, MO, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away Aug. 4, 2018. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday, Aug. 10 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Cremation to follow with inurnment at Missouri State Veterans’ Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be scheduled at a later date to be held in Hamilton, MO. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Kansas City Camp Quality, 3111 SE 3rd Terr. Lee's Summit, MO 64063.
Jerry was born May 28, 1940 in Wichita, KS and graduated from Van Horn High School in the Class of 1958. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked at K.W. Dart for over twenty years and retired in 1997. He and his wife, Rose, then moved to Hamilton, MO. He loved fishing and taught fishing to the children at Camp Quality for over fifteen years. He was a jack-of all trades and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the Central States Bass Club and a former member of the U.A.W.
Jerry is survived by his wife Rose Harrison; daughters Helen Turman and husband Steve; Michelle Reynolds; Kelly Jones; brother Duane Harrison; granddaughters Billie Jo Turman, Roxana Hinkle; great-grandchildren Jasmine, Abigail, Nathan and David Hinkle; BreAnne Vazquez and Shyloh Railey. |
