Bio     Gloria J. Barton, 75, died at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Born September 6, 1939, in Lawrence, Kansas, Jane spent early years in Wichita but moved to Independence at the age of 13, where she spent the rest of her life. She was a graduate of Van Horn High School and Jenny Lund School of Nursing and worked as an LPN throughout her career. Jane attended New Salem Baptist Church for many years, and Living Waters in later life, as long as her health allowed. She loved the Lord Jesus with all of her heart and walked with Him for over 35 years. She was an outgoing person who loved people, cooking, music, singing and dancing. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Marilyn (Priest) Marker, and her brother, Monte C. Marker. Survivors include her husband, Gary J. Barton; four daughters, Marcia (Tenny) Dewey, Lisa (Mark) Bowman, Susan (Bryan) Vinson, and Jenilee (Nathan) Green; and six grandchildren. A private family service will be held at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence. Published by The Examiner on Apr. 7, 2015.

Jerry is a VH Alumni (1960) and will be gifting a Falcon sculpture he created to VH at this time. All school alumni are welcome to attend.
