| Bio | Deanna Leigh Pieratt, 77, of Independence, MO passed away July 13, 2017, at the St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. She was born July 31, 1939 in Kansas City to Mervin and Helen (Wren) Cary.
Deanna graduated from Van Horn High School and spent the majority of her working years at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. Deanna was very devoted to her family and cherished her time with them. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching her grandson, Tyler play baseball. She also enjoyed working on various arts and craft projects.
She married Randall Max Pieratt on February 28, 1965 in Kansas City. Mr. Pieratt passed away in 2011. Survivors include her two sons, Kevin Daniel Pieratt and wife, Tracy of Lee’s Summit, MO and Jeffery Randall Pieratt and wife, Kimberly of Lansing, KS; three siblings, Barbara Harbaugh of Independence, MO, Billie Simmons and husband, Neil of Lone Jack, MO and Mervin “Sonny” Cary and wife, Carol of Independence, MO; her beloved grandson, Tyler Randall Pieratt and a step-granddaughter, Jaclyn Rose Rogers; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs, where the funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. A committal service and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
